I Resisted Making Videos Until…

I resisted making videos for Pan Theater for a long time. Then I took a small step and made a video for a friend. That simple act made it easier to take more small steps.

One f the first things you learn in improv is to say "yes" and accept, rather than block. This lesson extends beyond the stage.

That's how improv works – one small "yes" leads to another. Over the past year or two, some friends and students at Pan Theater encouraged me to create videos. They suggested showcasing what we do and exploring our ideas.

At first, I resisted. But then I remembered my marketing coach, Lisa Cain from Marketing U, who asked for a video testimonial. I set a deadline, made a few versions, and she chose the best one.

In the process, I realized making videos wasn't so hard. So, we started creating more. We now have about 10-15 short videos discussing improv, life, and running an improv theater. There's also a longer interview with Keith Marquez.

This journey began with a simple "yes," leading to new connections and opportunities. It's a testament to how saying "yes" can open doors and bring people and ideas together, both on and off the stage.

What's one small step you've been avoiding?
