 What will we do?

So first what we won’t do…we won’t spend a lot of time talking about theory and giving a lecture. We do promise to take it slow, but you'll be amazed by how much material we cover.

We don’t expect you to take notes or to be super confident. We’ll encourage you to make mistakes, to try something without having to worry about getting it right or being perfect.

We believe that skill comes from experience and we give you a place to get that experience without judging your process or being critical. We were there once but if we can do it….we know you can too.

We want you on stage as much as possible. Yes, we said it- you on stage. When you’re up there we’ll give you freedom to risk, comfort in failing and succeeding and the time to experience the fun and excitement improv theater can provide.  

 

You’ll play theater games and perform exercises with others in the class on the stage. We’ll get there in baby steps throughout the class. You’ll also laugh, meet new people and have a great time if you give it a try. There is only now. Take advantage of this opportunity.

Let me share a secret. Many improvisors are introverts. I’m a huge introvert. I do this because it scared me. When I did a strong scene, or took a new chance it gave me such a rush. Now I perform on stage in improv shows almost every week. 

 

So, as the years passed, I realized I could teach this and teach it well because…

 

I know what it is like to be the person that is too serious or analytical but with strong creative side that is struggling to break free. I remember what it was like to be the quiet kid who needed a little extra encouragement, or what it was like to be the experienced actor that was rusty and need a warm and comfy place to play again.

 

We’ll provide you all that and more. We shouldn’t say it, but when it comes to creating a supportive and comfortable place to spread your wings- we are all that and a bag of chips.
